RIP Sen. Ted Kennedy

You may have heard that today we lost a LION in progressive politics. Sen. Ted Kennedy died today. His was a life more than well lived. He was a champion for people not just in Mass. his state but all across the usa. His wisdom, his backbone, his will to fight for all of us will be sorely missed.

My greatest wish is that we can get real health care reform passed, now, this year. For all of us and in honor of Sen. Kennedy.

You can read some amazing posts about him
here

I am heartbroken.

Health Care Actions

Everone's talking about health care reform for America.

The published figures about healthcare costs are overwhelming. The deprivation and inequity in availability of healthcare is a statement of fact. The possibility that healthcare in America can be better, and more affordable, and more accessible has beggared belief - until now!

President Obama is leading the charge on health care reform and leaving it to Congress to craft the legislation.

What can YOU do?

www.HealthReform.gov : Share your story

Have you got a story - related to you, one of your family, a neighbor or friend - about healthcare in America? It's time to share that story. The White House has set up a website called www.healthreform.gov and welcomes you to share your story, your proposal, your ideas on health care reform. Click on http://www.healthreform.gov/communityreports/comments.html to go directly to the page where you can write your story or submission.

DA Japan Health Care Project: Americans Abroad Know about National Health Care

DA Japan realized that many of we who live abroad know about national health care and they set up a website for us to tell the world about it.

Do you have a story about your experience in a national health care system - like Australia's - that help illustrates its worth? Then go to http://healthcareforamerica.blogspot.com/ and tell your story. Do it today!

Photo America Comes to Tokyo

Dear Members of Democrats Abroad Japan:

Come celebrate America's legacy of photographic art with us at Tokyo Photo 2009.

From September 4 to 6, leading art galleries from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles will be coming to Tokyo to exhibit and sell hundreds of photographic works by emerging and established artists. In addition, the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA) in San Diego will be mounting a special exhibition entitled Photo America, featuring over 50 historically significant works by such masters as Ansel Adams, William Eggleston and Annie Leibovitz. Sponsored in part by the US Embassy, the exhibit will present a panoramic overview of American photographic expression over the last century. As a diehard Democrat and art lover, I encourage you to make time to visit this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit. Just mention your status as a member of DAJ at the entrance gate and the admission will be ¥1000. Read more below the fold for the details.
