In a recent first, the Personal Democracy Forum held a "Twitter Debate" between Obama and McCain surrogates. The PdF is a really interesting collection of people from various backgrounds, who jointly hope to promote, understand, and evolve technology in democratic uses.

Hello fellow DAJers. I hope this blog entry finds all of you well.

A new diary series called "Progressive Identity Project" will be featured every Sunday and Wednesday night at 10pm JST at the DailyKos. This series of discussions is open to all members of the DailyKos community, and is aimed at targeting specific issues related to progressivism and the web-based social networking medium. The ongoing project is a part of my Masters thesis and I hope to continue to explore a number of intriguing questions about progressivism in the new media environment via this forum.

For those of you unfamiliar with Naomi Klein, I suggest you give her work a long look as there may be no better journalist, activist, or public figure as effective at spelling out the problems with free market philosophy and globalization. Her first book, "No Logo", deals with issues surrounding corporate branding, sweatshops, and activism in favor of combatting the negative effects of both.

I'm currently sitting in my apartment in New York City gorging myself on the buffet of American Media's Political Coverage. It's a smörgåsbord of CNN and a cornucopia of MSNBC. A spoonful of Fox.....I think not.
